DESCRIPTION:Both evolutionary and biblical models of the origin of viruses are presented\, followed by a brief survey of viral types and their interaction with human cells. Beneficial uses of virus in medical treatment and a few selected viral diseases are discussed. \nSPEAKER: Joseph Kezele\, M.D. \nBIO: Joseph Kezele studied the sciences and music at the University of Arizona\, while earning his B.A. in Russian in 1971\, and his M.D. in 1975. He then completed a Pediatric Residency and practiced Emergency Medicine for 25 years in the Phoenix area\, and was a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is now retired from the practice of medicine\, serves as President of the Arizona Origin Science Association\, and is Associate Professor of Biology at Arizona Christian University in Glendale\, teaching Nutrition and Wellness\, Biochemistry\, Pathophysiology\, Organic Chemistry and Creation Science Apologetics. Dr. Kezele is also a Logos Research Associate\, and had the privilege of participating in a dinosaur dig in Montana and excavated a triceratops horn and the triceratops cervical condyle from which intact osteocytes in soft tissue were isolated. \nHe has participated in 24 foreign mission trips\, teaching medicine\, standard evangelism and creation science evangelism in India\, Zambia\, Mexico\, Russia\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, the Ukraine\, Bosnia-Herzegovina\, Armenia and Moldova. SUMMARY:Dinosaurs and the Bible
DESCRIPTION:A creationist and an evolutionist can work together to dig up a dinosaur fossil. They will just disagree on where this dinosaur came from\, how long  ago it lived\, and what killed it. Mr. Sherwin begins this talk by asking children under 12 to identify pictures of some of the more popular “thunder lizards”. He then uses the fossil record to show that dinosaurs have always been dinosaurs – they didn’t evolve from other reptiles or turn into birds. Evolutionary scientists teach many strange theories about how the dinosaurs died off\, but much can be explained by the world-wide Genesis flood. \nBio: Frank Sherwin received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Western State College\, Gunnison\, Colorado\, in 1978. He attended graduate school at the University of Northern Colorado\, where he studied under the late Gerald D. Schmidt\, one of the foremost parasitologists in America. In 1985\, Mr. Sherwin obtained a master’s degree in zoology. He published his research in the peer-reviewed Journal of Parasitology. He contributes his scientific expertise to a variety of ICR’s publications on creation science and is one of ICR’s most sought-after speakers.
