SUMMARY:Toward a More Biblical Cosmology
DESCRIPTION:Three clues in Genesis chapter 1 point to the speed of light* in the heavens being trillions of times greater during the first four days of creation than it is today. Those same days on earth were of ordinary length\, according to abundant clues in chapter 1 and the context of Exodus 20:11. According to general relativity and experiments\, the “speed of time” is directly connected to the speed of light. So the speed of light on earth during creation week must have been what it is today. But the high speed of light in the heavens means that billions of years’ worth of events must have occurred out there before the end of the fourth day on earth. Because we observe the speed of light in the nearby heavens today as being what it is on earth\, the speed of light in the heavens must have dropped at some time from being high down to today’s value. I propose that this change happened suddenly throughout the cosmos near the end of the fourth day. Such a change would mean that we would see no difference between things closer than 6\,000 light-years and things beyond that distance. The interface would be entirely transparent to us. Yet we could see the cosmos billions of light-years away and having an apparent history of billions of years\, allowing the heavens to declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1). \n*For those worried about Jason Lisle’s cosmology\, this is the speed of light in both directions\, both from and to the earth. \nSPEAKER: Russell Humphreys\, B.S. Physics at Duke University\, PhD\, Physics\, Louisiana State University \nBIO: Dr. Humphreys worked in the High Voltage Laboratory of General Electric Company\, designing and inventing equipment and researching high–voltage phenomena. While there\, he received a U.S. patent and one of Industrial Research Magazine’s IR–100 awards. He also worked for Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico) in nuclear physics\, geophysics\, pulsed-power research\, and theoretical atomic and nuclear physics. He worked with Sandia’s ‘Particle Beam Fusion Project’\, and was co-inventor of special laser-triggered ‘Rimfire’ high-voltage switches\, now coming into wider use. The last decade at Sandia saw greater emphasis on theoretical nuclear physics and radiation hydrodynamics in an effort to help produce the world’s first lab–scale thermonuclear fusion. SUMMARY:God’s Big Magnets in the Sky
DESCRIPTION:Scripture suggests God created nearly everything as water and then transformed it into planets and stars.  I suggest that He used the hydrogen nuclei in the water to start the planets’ magnetic fields. For the smaller planets\, like Earth\, the fields could only last thousands of years. After I published this theory in 1984\, NASA space probes have been steadily confirming the predictions of the theory\, as we shall see from a tour of the Solar System. The theory could only work if the initial material were water and the age of the Solar System were thousands of years\, not billions of years. So the magnetic fields of the planets strongly support the Biblical account of creation. \nSPEAKER: Russell Humphreys\, B.S. Physics at Duke University\, PhD\, Physics\, Louisiana State University \nBIO: Dr. Humphreys worked in the High Voltage Laboratory of General Electric Company\, designing and inventing equipment and researching high–voltage phenomena. While there\, he received a U.S. patent and one of Industrial Research Magazine’s IR–100 awards. He also worked for Sandia National Laboratories (New Mexico) in nuclear physics\, geophysics\, pulsed-power research\, and theoretical atomic and nuclear physics. He worked with Sandia’s ‘Particle Beam Fusion Project’\, and was co-inventor of special laser-triggered ‘Rimfire’ high-voltage switches\, now coming into wider use. The last decade at Sandia saw greater emphasis on theoretical nuclear physics and radiation hydrodynamics in an effort to help produce the world’s first lab–scale thermonuclear fusion. Besides gaining two other U.S. patents\, Dr Humphreys has been given two awards from Sandia\, including an Award for Excellence for contributions to light ion–fusion target theory. DESCRIPTION:The Delaware Indians have the most detailed Native American account of origins – extending back to the origin of humanity. This talk examines the astounding similarity of this record to the Biblical account of early earth history – including creation\, the entrance of death\, the worldwide flood\, intriguing references to the post flood ice age\, and other details of earth history. \nSPEAKER: Bruce Malone \nBIO: Search for the Truth (Ministry) began with the desire to bring the evidence for creation to Christians and non-Christians who are unaware of the credibility of God’s Word when it deals with science and history. After giving his life to Christ\, Bruce Malone developed a series of lectures on the evidence for creation but found that the majority of churches would not allow the class to be taught because the subject was “too controversial”. Because of this response from many churches\, Bruce started purchasing space to place the evidence for creation (which students are not shown in public schools\, museums\, or media) into local public newspapers. From this simple start Search for the Truth Ministries has grown to fifteen published books with over 220\,000 copies in print. The articles contained in Search for the Truth and A Closer Look at the Evidence have been reproduced in dozens of newspapers and come with permission granted to reproduce the materials at no charge.
