SUMMARY:Toward a More Biblical Cosmology
DESCRIPTION:Three clues in Genesis chapter 1 point to the speed of light* in the heavens being trillions of times greater during the first four days of creation than it is today. Those same days on earth were of ordinary length\, according to abundant clues in chapter 1 and the context of Exodus 20:11. According to general relativity and experiments\, the “speed of time” is directly connected to the speed of light. So the speed of light on earth during creation week must have been what it is today. But the high speed of light in the heavens means that billions of years’ worth of events must have occurred out there before the end of the fourth day on earth. Because we observe the speed of light in the nearby heavens today as being what it is on earth\, the speed of light in the heavens must have dropped at some time from being high down to today’s value. I propose that this change happened suddenly throughout the cosmos near the end of the fourth day. Such a change would mean that we would see no difference between things closer than 6\,000 light-years and things beyond that distance. The interface would be entirely transparent to us. Yet we could see the cosmos billions of light-years away and having an apparent history of billions of years\, allowing the heavens to declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1). \n*For those worried about Jason Lisle’s cosmology\, this is the speed of light in both directions\, both from and to the earth. \nSPEAKER: Russell Humphreys\, B.S. SUMMARY:God’s Big Magnets in the Sky
DESCRIPTION:Scripture suggests God created nearly everything as water and then transformed it into planets and stars.  I suggest that He used the hydrogen nuclei in the water to start the planets’ magnetic fields. For the smaller planets\, like Earth\, the fields could only last thousands of years. After I published this theory in 1984\, NASA space probes have been steadily confirming the predictions of the theory\, as we shall see from a tour of the Solar System. The theory could only work if the initial material were water and the age of the Solar System were thousands of years\, not billions of years.
