Presentations:

The Earth and Environment from a Biblical Perspective

When God created the Earth and man, He gave man dominion over the Earth. However, He commanded us to be stewards of His creation and to not exploit it irresponsibly. This presentation discusses how man has irresponsibly exploited the Earth and how scientists are working to clean it up. This presentation also discusses climate change and how it fits in the Bible and the Flood model.

“Grand Canyon – Evidence for the Genesis Record or Evidence for Uniformitarianism”

Geologists have identified that rock layers and geologic features provide evidence of what happened in the past. The Grand Canyon exposes nearly one mile of rock layers that are evidence of past events. The interpretation of these events is based on one’s world view. Secular geologists have concluded that the deepest rocks found at the Grand Canyon are 1-2 billion years old and the thick sequence of sedimentary rocks were slowly deposited over hundreds of millions of years. The Grand Canyon was then carved over millions of years by the action of the Colorado River. Biblical geologists have concluded that the deepest rocks in the Grand Canyon were created by God about 6,500 years ago and the sedimentary rocks were deposited during the one-year Noah’s Flood. The Grand Canyon was then carved quickly either at the end of the Flood or by a catastrophic event a few years after the Flood. This talk presents geologic evidence from the Grand Canyon and other recent geologic events such as Mount Saint Helens that show the Grand Canyon was formed by a catastrophic event and according to the Bible that event was Noah’s Flood.

“Survey of the Geology of Arizona and the Salt River Valley from a Biblical Perspective” (Technical – Junior High and above)

This talk starts with a “Geology 101” type discussion that is focused on the types of rocks and how they formed and the principals that are used to interpret geological features. The talk finishes by presenting a different view of the geology of Arizona, one from a Biblical perspective. This talk should be split over a minimum of two sessions.

“Geological Interpretation – The Battle of World Views”

The statistics are showing that every year 80% of youth that have been brought up in the Church stop going to Church as soon as they turn 20 years old. This talk discusses why this is happening. This talk also provides a comparison of the two main world views, the Biblical World View and the Secular World View and provides scientific evidence from the Grand Canyon that supports the Biblical World View. The talk finishes with a discussion on the significance of geologic features. This talk is semi-technical and is designed for ages 5th grade and up.

“Volcanism in Arizona from a Biblical Perspective”

Did you know that more than 30% of the land surface in Arizona is characterized by volcanic features? This talk shows that at one time Arizona was one of the most volcanically active locations on the Earth. However, when did this volcanism occur? Did it occur over hundreds of millions of years according to the secular timescale or within the last 6,500 years according to the Bible? This talk presents the different types of volcanoes and provides a Biblical explanation for their presence in Arizona.

The Geology of Kartchner Caverns and the Whetstone Mountains

Kartchner Caverns is one of Arizona’s geologic wonders. The cave rivals larger and more famous caves such as Carlsbad Caverns and Mammoth Cave in the beauty of its cave formations. Secular geologists have concluded through evaluation of index fossils that the limestone rocks in which Kartchner Caverns has formed were deposited hundreds of millions of years ago and radioisotope dating has indicated that the cave started forming more than 70,000 years ago. However, actual observation at Kartchner Caverns and at other caves show that cave formations such as stalactites and stalagmites do indeed grow rapidly and within the Biblical framework of less than 4,000 years. This talk shows that the Biblical Record of Noah’s Flood provides the best explanation for the formation of Kartchner Caverns and other caves.

The Rocks Will Cry Out – The Biblical Significance of Rocks

Learn how rocks originated and how they formed. See that rocks and minerals play a significant role in the Bible. Discover that Jesus was a geological engineer.

Natural Disasters, Why Do They Happen?

Natural disasters have the capacity of taking many lives, destroying property, and causing extreme suffering. No single events, other than wars, can cause so much destruction. Why do natural disasters occur? Why would a loving God allow the pain, death and suffering that are associated with natural disasters? These are the questions that have been asked by Christians and skeptics alike. The answer is found in the Bible and particularly in the Book of Genesis. This presentation will explore the Biblical history and science of natural disasters and will attempt to explain why they occur.
