Design in the Desert: Organisms living in the Sonoran Desert that point to a Creator

Summary:

This presentation describes and examines the unique traits of several organisms living in the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona to show that these traits could not have come about by chance processes through evolution. Instead, these traits could only have come about through the work of a creator God. The outcomes of random processes of evolution will be compared and contrasted with what would be expected from the design of an intelligent creator; The concept of irreducible complexity will be explained and illustrated.

Presenter: Steve Blanchard

Steve Blanchard received a BS from Colorado State University in ForestWatershed Sciences and an MS from Oregon State University in Water Resources Engineering. He worked for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for 35 years as a hydrologist. The last decade of his career he served as Chief of the Office of Surface Water and was responsible for the USGS national streamgaging program. After retiring from the USGS, Steve and his wife served as missionaries for six years in the Republic of Ireland. In preparation for missionary work, Steve received a MA in Theological Studies from Columbia International University Seminary and an MDiv in Biblical Studies from Liberty University Seminary. Steve has been periodically teaching on young earth creation topics for over 40 years. He and his wife currently reside in Tucson, AZ.
