Presents the Scriptural information regarding the meaning of the word “day” in Genesis Chapter 1, the significance of the global Genesis Flood regarding the age of the Earth, and the consequences of compromising Scripture in order to accommodate long ages. A brief discussion of the significance of the finding of Carbon-14 in coal and diamonds, the decay of the magnetic field of the planet and the decay of the Human genome concludes the presentation.
You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby! – The transitions in the circulatory system at birth.
This fascinating presentation discusses the physical changes that must occur in the circulatory system for a baby to make the transition from life in the womb to the outside world. Many of the contributing factors that stimulate these changes are also given, demonstrating the irreducible complexity of the mammalian system of giving birth. A medical case history is presented with a surprise ending, and the relevance of all of this to Genesis is demonstrated.

Geology of Kartchner Caverns and the Whetstone Mountains
Kartchner Caverns is one of Arizona’s geologic wonders. The cave rivals larger and more famous caves such as Carlsbad Caverns and Mammoth Cave in the beauty of its cave formations. Secular geologists have concluded through evaluation of index fossils that the limestone rocks in which Kartchner Caverns has formed were deposited hundreds of millions of years ago and radioisotope dating has indicated that the cave started forming more than 70,000 years ago. However, actual observation at Kartchner Caverns and at other caves show that cave formations such as stalactites and stalagmites do indeed grow rapidly and within the Biblical framework of less than 4,000 years. This talk shows that the Biblical Record of Noah’s Flood provides the best explanation for the formation of Kartchner Caverns and other caves.

Originally from New Zealand, Dr. Sinclair received his Ph.D. in meteorology in 1985 from the US Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He is the author of several research publications and currently teaches meteorology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. He is a member and occasional Bible teacher at New Life Baptist Church in Dewey, AZ.
Global warming has been described in terms ranging from the greatest hoax ever perpetrated to the worst calamity to face human civilization and has inspired a plethora of politically polarized publications and movies. What is the truth about global warming? This presentation begins with a survey of climate change science within the context of natural and historical variability, including reference to the creationist perspective. Various global warming impacts are then presented and the issue of how we should respond us discussed within a biblical framework.

On Saturday, January 17th and Saturday 24th, AzOSA’s ever-popular “Big Room” tours at Kartchner Caverns were sold out and a hit! Fourteen “cavers” and Jim Clarke (AzOSA’s resident geologist) rode the tram a short distance up the hillside and entered the beautiful underground world of the Big Room. After spending about an hour enjoying the caverns’ incredible formations, Jim and the group gathered at the group picnic ramada for a 20 minute talk about the area’s geology and cave formation.
On January 17th, a couple who was not with our group heard Jim start to speak and joined us for his entire presentation. The couple is shown on the left side of the photo, back row. They said when Jim mentioned the Bible and how it fit into the creation, they just had to stay and listen!

After Jim’s presentation to the group on January 24th, four members of the Peltzer family spelled C-A-V-E to show their enthusiasm!
We received several suggestions for field trips and are currently looking into a trip to Antelope Canyon and a half-day raft adventure on the Colorado River from Glen Canyon Dam. If you have any suggestions for other field trips, please email Jim at geology@azosa.org

Russ Miller’s Creation vs. Evolution DVDs will be shown during the ride to and from the Grand Canyon. At Grand Canyon’s Desert View, the Watchtower area, we will stop for lunch and an on-the-rim talk by Russ. From Desert View, it is on to Mather Point where you can either ride the bus to Bright Angel Lodge or walk 2.8 miles along the paved rim trail to the Lodge. During the walk, Russ will point out Canyon features and answer questions. We will end up at Bright Angel Lodge where there will be free time to explore the lodge.
