Live Lessons from the Bible and Biology – Three Presentations!!

Combining God’s living Word with God’s living Creation, Steve Lachonas will start his presentation with several live animals, focusing on both their incredible design and the lessons they teach us about God and his Word. These themes look at how a Madagascar Hissing cockroach can teach us about bearing a burden, based on real life technology being used by scientists. About an African Bullfrog, that lies dormant for ten months, only to come to life once again and teach us what it means to be devoted. Can a lizard have no legs and still teach us about change? Or a Hornbill bird exhort us to watch over others?

And what can a watching a Tarantula shed teach us about Salvation? After these animals and the themes that accompany them are answered, this wildly interactive presentation ends with a summary of how important it is to see how God’s creation & Genesis, ultimately points us to our Creator Jesus, his gospel and the rest of Scripture.

The Assumptions Behind Uniformitarianism and Dating Methods

November 18 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Arizona Christian University, 2625 East Cactus Road
Phoenix, AZ ROOM 21

In this talk Dr. Anderson looks at the history of uniformitarianism in geologists like Charles Lyell and its impact on Darwin and materialist/naturalist origins theories. These assumptions are found in all dating methods which have become standard in making claims about the age of life and the earth. It has important bearing on how naturalists and Christians alike understand the problem of evil, the purpose of natural evil, and the original goodness of creation.

The History of Basement Rock: Creation, Pre-Flood, During the Flood, and Post Flood. There is no denying that there is at least one miracle involved with basement rock, possibly two. Together, those miracles took a few seconds or minutes to trigger the events that followed. Those following events followed the laws of physics. We will look at known physics and geological processes to see how basement rock affirms the historical accuracy of the Bible, particularly Noah’s Flood.
