Dr. Joseph Kezele

M.D., Past President, Arizona Origin Science Association

Joseph Kezele studied the sciences and music at the University of Arizona, while earning his B.A. in Russian in 1971, and his M.D. in 1975. He then completed a Pediatric Residency and practiced Emergency Medicine for 25 years in the Phoenix area and was a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is now retired from the practice of medicine, served as President of AzOSA for 19 years, and now serves on the Board of AzOSA and as a consultant and mentor. He is an Associate Professor of Biology at Arizona Christian University in Glendale, teaching Nutrition and Wellness, Medical Terminology, Human Genetics, Biochemistry, Pathophysiology, Organic Chemistry and Creation Science Apologetics.

Dr. Kezele is also a Logos Research Associate, a Fellow of the Creation Research Society, and had the privilege of participating in a dinosaur dig in Montana and excavated a triceratops horn and the triceratops cervical condyle from which intact osteocytes in soft tissue were isolated.

He has participated in 24 foreign mission trips, teaching medicine, standard evangelism and creation science evangelism in India, Zambia, Mexico, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Armenia, and Moldova. Dr. Kezele is one of the principal presenters in the Institute for Creation Research’s 4 DVD series Made in His Image.

Dr. Kezele teaches Creation Science Evangelism at Black Mountain Baptist Church in Cave Creek, Arizona, where he and his wife Patty attend. Their three adult children live and work in the Phoenix area.

The Age of the Earth 60 minutes

Opens with preliminary points about the relationship among Scripture, science and evolution. After a brief look at how rocks cannot be dated, Helium diffusion in zircon crystals is examined. Examples of other methods of dating that give a young age of the Earth and the solar system are shown as well. Then the verb tenses of the Hebrew in the early chapters of Genesis demonstrate that those chapters are indeed historical narratives that can be fully trusted in they communicate from God to us rather than being simply a poetic layout of concepts of truth. The presentation closes with verses from Exodus and the New Testament confirming a young Earth.

The Age of the Universe. 50 minutes

Begins looking at the concepts of distance and time from the evolutionary and Biblical points of view. Then the expansion of the universe is examined from both physical evidence and Scripture as then is the pivotal issue of whether or not the universe has a center and an edge. The implications of this are discussed, as is the issue of the beginning of matter and energy. The real Big Bang in the future concludes this presentation.

Amber and the Genesis Flood

This presents the source of amber and types of amber specimens that defy the usual
secular explanation for the existence of amber. Then it demonstrates the necessity of
the Genesis flood to explain what we see around the world. It concludes with some
fascinating history about amber involving Russia and Germany over three centuries..

America Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow

This presentation opens with a survey of the biblical foundation and history of America. It then exposes what is happening today to undermine the Christian foundation of this nation and affirms that we must return to biblical truth in order to give people a chance to deal with the reality of the God of the Bible and what Scripture tells us will eventually happen.

Apemen to Humans – Is a Monkey Your Uncle? 50 minutes

Opens with the Biblical account of the creation of man, is followed by the evolutionary starting assumptions, and then compares various anatomical features of man, simians and the fossils. Then the three ways to make an ape-man are presented, followed by a dismantling of our supposed ancestral family tree. The second part  gives an updated comparison of the chimp and human genomes, showing from actual genomic information how it is absolutely genetically impossible for man to have evolved from some common hominin ancestor.

Are Dinosaurs More Recent than You Think? 60 minutes

Presents the contrast between the evolutionary views and the Biblical concept of dinosaurs through time, explores the “myths” of dragons, presents Scriptural references to dinosaurs and the historical and physical evidence that dinosaurs lived recently.

Astronomy for the Creationist 50 minutes

Fascinating features of the Moon, Sun, and solar eclipses and why solar eclipses have given us the opportunity to learn so much about the universe start off this presentation. We then explore interesting facts about the other planets and their moons and comets that demonstrate the solar system is young. The significance of spiral arms in galaxies, Earth’s position in the Milky Way and heavy elements in the “early” universe are discussed.

Bacteria and Antibiotic Resistance 60 minutes

Opens with a discussion of mutations and what they really cause. Comments by Richard Dawkins, Howard Florey, Alexander Fleming and Ernst Chain on evolution are contrasted. The origin of antibiotics and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance are presented, and finally Richard Lenski’s 20 year experiment with bacteria is discussed.

Brains and Brawn

The human brain’s capabilities of optimization, computational power, processing speed, energy efficiency, memory capacity, memory storage, multidimensional processing, biophoton communication and where we play and laugh are presented. This is followed by the different types of muscle, the longest, smallest, largest, strongest, fastest, slowest, and most powerful muscles, how human and chimp facial muscles differ, how muscle serves as a sensory organ, and how the mechanism of muscle contraction works.

Do You Have a Date with Carbon-14 opens with preliminary points about the relationships among Scripture, science and evolution. After a look at the basics of atomic structure, the formation and decay processes of Carbon-14 are presented. The fascinating finding of C-14 in diamonds and coal are discussed along with the very important implications for the age of the earth. Then the effect of the decay of C-14 in the human body is discussed in relation to the genetic burden of mutations and further implications for the human race. This presentations ends with a brief discussion of spiritual decay and renewal.

From Darwin to Dictatorship. 60 minutes

This hard-hitting presentation is born from Dr. Kezele’s personal experiences in Eastern Europe and opens with the “Laying the Foundation” for evolution that Ernst Häckel laid down in Germany and in Europe as a whole. It then reviews how this foundation was used to promote racism and how the Nazis took advantage of that foundation. The scene then shifts to Soviet Russia after “Revolution of Foundation” and a recounting of some of the terrible events that occurred there in an evolutionary based political system. The last sections are “Evolution of Foundation” in America and “The Consequences”. They show why we now have to deal with racism, abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cells, and rationing of health care.

Genetics in Genesis (45 minutes) Designed for a Sunday morning service

“Where did I come from?” deals with the Scriptural and genetic explanations of human origins, including the comparison of human and chimp DNA.

“Why Am I still here?” explains why we are not immediately taken up into heaven upon accepting the gift of salvation from the God of the Bible.

“Why are we still here as the human race, not already extinct?” explains the relationship among the Second Law of Thermodynamics, mutations in DNA, and the biblical and evolutionary time-frames.

“Where Am I going?” discusses the fate of the human race in the evolutionary paradigm and biblical prophecy, and compares the fate of the individual in the evolutionary and biblical belief systems.

God’s Amazing Creatures # 1

This talk presents fascinating features of sperm whales, the web-footed salamander of the Sierra Nevada, how octopodes change color and texture, and specifics about the mimic octopus. These are great examples of fauna that fracture the fairy tale of evolution.

God’s Amazing Creatures # 2 – Sea Horses, Woodpeckers and Butterflies

This presentation covers a wide array of factual evidence about these three creatures, demonstrating that they could only have been designed, and could not have survived a process of evolving into having the features that they do possess.

Begins with a review of the foundation for evolution laid down by Dr. Ernst Hackle in Germany, including his fraudulent drawings, the Biogenetic Law, vestigial organs, his evolutionary tree of life and speechless ape-man. Ilya Ivanov’s human-ape hybridization attempts are examined, along with Dr. Owen Lovejoy’s plaster surgery on Lucy’s pelvis. The concept of human subtypes and genocide in Australia, German Southwest Africa and the territory occupied by the Third Reich are presented, focusing on medical experimentation on concentration camp prisoners. Attention is then turned to abortion, euthanasia, school violence and embryonic stem cell research in the United States. Finally a look at the concept of Junk DNA and the delay in medical research it caused.

Honeybees and Honey

This presents the lack of change in bees from the fossil record to
contemporary bees, unique behaviors. anatomy and sensory capabilities of
honeybees involved with honey and wax production, how honeybees do
math, how they defend the hive, reproduce, and special medicinal properties
of honey. All of these points demonstrate how they had to have been
created by the God of the Bible, and could not have possibly evolved.

How Many Races Are There? 45 minutes Good for Sunday morning service

Discusses what constituted a race historically from the point of view of society and past evolutionary teaching, then recounts the consequences of evolutionary thought for various people groups. Presents “racial Differences” in terms of modern genetics, skin color and inheritance, the origin of people groups, the Bible and servants, real biblical “interracial marriages” and cross cultural problems.

The Ice Age and the Woolly Mammoths. 60 minutes

Begins with a review of glacier terminology, compares the evolutionary model and the Flood account as the cause of the Ice Age, examines migratory patterns of man and animals, the end of the Ice Age and explores explanations of the demise of the woolly mammoths.

Information

Presents the four components of information, how information must come from an intelligent source and not from random chance events or from matter, how DNA is the most complex information system known to man, and has multiple overlying codes in the same segment of DNA. Machines are required to make use of information, and information is necessary to construct machines.

Is Genesis Relevant in America Today? 35 – 40 minutes. Designed for Sunday morning service.

Opens with a review of the Scriptural foundation of America, followed by a look at the replacement of belief in God as Creator by the doctrine of atheistic evolution. It then focuses on Education as the battleground, and how a student can maintain a biblical worldview in the face of such attacks. Satan’s tactics and the meaning of the word “day” are examined before looking at a few simple facts about the cell. It concludes with the reasons why Genesis is still relevant in America today.

Technical discussion of various types of non-coding DNA and the functions they perform.

Men of Science 25 minutes

Starts with a review of some of the great scientists of the past and present who based their belief in a young-Earth creation model on Scripture due to their expectation that the God of the Bible is a God of order. The contrast between operative and historical science is presented along with some evidence to highlight basic underlying assumptions of evolution. Finally Scripture is presented which contains the essence of the first two Laws of Thermodynamics.

The Miller-Urey Experiment – The Rest of the Story

This presentation begins with some the history of those proposing chemical evolution, and then covers eleven points about this experiment that the textbooks do not address. Then some more recent attempts by evolutionists to propose means of chemical evolution are covered. Then related issues regarding proteins and irreducible complexity are presented along with examples of what proteins do in cells.

Programmed Filling and Speciation – Having Fun with Dogs. 60 minutes

This is a fun talk featuring dogs that first makes the distinction between species and the “biblical kind”. It then reviews what Scripture has to say about Noah’s flood and the animals, each “according to its kind”. Artificial selection (breeding) and programmed filling are discussed, explaining how they occur, then contrasting them to how evolutionists think how natural selection works. Then the post flood world, including the single Ice Age is briefly presented, with the explanation of how that brought about the environmental pressures to which organisms react by programmed filling, causing speciation,brought about by five mechanisms actively and intentionally operating in the genomes of organisms.  A final contrast is given between the demand of evolution for new information to be added to an initially very small gene pool by random chance events through mutations causing the development of new kinds, and the biblical concept of programmed filling.

This very well diagrammed presentation starts with the development of the human embryo and shows how it progresses to the beginning of the development of the placenta. The remainder of the presentation focuses on the placenta itself, its subsequent development, and how it takes on the functions of supporting the life of the embryo while the placenta itself is growing and changing. Know the placenta’s functions, be amazed by what the placenta does to the uterus and learn why the mammalian system of reproduction had to have been created.

Begins with explaining the evolutionary concept of junk DNA. Gives examples of different categories of what has been considered by evolutionists to be junk DNA, and then shows the fascinating functions that have been found. Then the 25-year delay in medical research due to this concept is examined.

Where Do the Thousands of Languages Come From? 75 minutes (Can be given in two parts with a break)

A review of the structures of the body and the software needed for language are presented. This is followed by an outline of the evolutionary model of language development, the structure and shift of language sounds, the rules of language known as grammar, semantics, syntax and other factors. Then a world tour of language maps and the Biblical account of the origin of languages are presented.

What We Are Up Against 25 minutes

Begins with a review of the evolutionary scenario, quotations of Richard Dawkins, and how the Church responds in general to attack by evolution. The seven “Cs” of biblical history are presented, along with several examples of compromise on the part of prominent people who state they are Bible believing Christians. Ends with three simple questions anyone can ask to challenge a person who compromises Genesis with old-age beliefs.

A brief discussion of the significance of the finding of Carbon-14 in coal and diamonds, the decay of the magnetic field of the planet and the decay of the Human genome concludes the presentation.

You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby! – The Transition from Prenatal to Postnatal Circulation. 60 minutes

This fascinating presentation discusses the physical changes that must occur in the circulatory system for a baby to make the transition from life in the womb to the outside world. Many of the contributing factors that stimulate these changes are also given, demonstrating the irreducible complexity of the mammalian system of giving birth. A medical case history is presented with a surprise ending, and the relevance of all of this to Genesis is demonstrated.
